Kobe Bryant and Lebron James are on a collision course to meet in Finals unless some playoff team rises to the occasion and wins as an underdog. It’s unlikely but some believe the Boston Celtics without Kevin Garnet can still make the finals or the upstart Orlando Magic may have a shot in the Eastern Conference. I don’t think anyone can stop this very talented and hungry Cleveland team with the best player in the world King James.
In the Western conference the L.A. Lakers are the clear cut favorite. The Spurs are too old and injured to compete and Denver as a two seed as never had much success lately vs. the Lakers.

The Lakers are the only team with a meaningful win at Cleveland this season but may still open as the small underdog because Cleveland has home court advantage if and when these teams meet up in the NBA Finals.

The Cavs had both the best overall record and home record in the league with their only other lost in a meaningless game to end the regular season vs. Philadelphia.

This coaching matchup gives the Lakers Phil Jackson a big edge over Mike Brown and the Cavs. Mike Brown did receive the coach of the year award but Phil Jackson has nine titles and the most big game coaching experience on the planet.

As of this writing on April 27th the Cavs steam-rolled the Detroit Pistons in round one of this seasons playoffs. Their defense was outstanding in that series as they won each game by double-digits. The Cavs will face the winner of the Miami Heat – Atlanta Hawks series.

The Lakers had their way with the Utah Jazz in round one and will await the winner of the Portland Trailblazers – Houston Rockets series.

I see a great NBA Finals this year between the Lakers and Cavilers with the Sportsbook not just posting the spread and the total for each game but also tons of great prop bets including Kobe and LeBron.

Here a look at the Odds to win the 2009 NBA Championship posted at the Las Vegas Hilton on April 27th.
